I am able to shoot video and still images in any setting. I can shoot indoors and outdoors using natural light and/or using the ring light. The ring light is 100% portable with the use of a battery. This is something that I have been wanting for a very long time! I am so happy with this combination. I am able to film videos and take photos of myself using the Sony Image app. When I turn the camera on it's side (vertically) I can easily fit my entire body + scenery of the background without having to be too far away from my camera.
