I have been yearning to go to a tropical destination lately. In order to get a quick, little taste of the luxuries a resort offers while staying close to home, I visited ResortPass to see what nearby resort I could visit. Taking time for self-care is important for mothers. ResortPass offers a great way to relax and recharge by providing day passes to luxury resorts. Enjoy a daycation and take advantage of amenities such as pools, spas, and restaurants without having to stay overnight. Give yourself a break and indulge in some well-deserved self-care with ResortPass.
When I saw The St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio was available to book a day pass to their rooftop pool, I was sold! I enjoyed a momcation and daycation all-in-one. I will definitely continue to incorporate this form of self-care into my life.
Self-care for Moms
"It is an essential component of stress relief and wellness. Making time for yourself may feel indulgent or selfish, but that is far from the truth. Even small acts of self-care or self-kindness can go a long way in decreasing the feelings of exhaustion, burnout, stress and even depression that busy mothers often feel." - Mayo Clinic Health Systems
On Saturday morning, I woke up, did my makeup and drove to downtown San Antonio. When I arrived at The St. Anthony Hotel, I did complimentary valet for my vehicle. I was greeted by the very the helpful and kind valet who assisted me up the stairs and escorted me to the hotel front desk.
Rooftop Pool
Rooftop Pool video
The St. Anthony Hotel's rooftop pool brings a lively resort experience and oh so many places to take photos. It is so beautiful up there. The pool is available for those who purchased a ResortPass from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. This lovely rooftop area offers:
Outdoor heated rooftop pool
Poolside food and drink service from the Cabana Bar
Complimentary wifi and water
Complimentary valet parking with the additional purchase of food or beverage
It was a beautiful, warm day with great weather when I visited. Perfect for a day of lounging by the pool and listening to the music they played over the speakers. They advertised that after Memorial Day, live music will begin on Saturdays and Sundays. There were four cabanas and a VIP lounge area that were available for people to reserve. You can enjoy all of this with the breathtaking views of downtown San Antonio.
The Bar & Restaurant
I ordered the turkey sandwich and fries from the outdoor pool deck and it was so delicious! This was a fancy turkey sandwich, featuring carved turkey breast gruyere, marinated tomatoes, sunflower pesto on 9 grain grain wheat. The fries were well-seasoned and crispy. Oh, this hit the spot. The plate container that it comes in was so cute and convenient because it is very windy out there + it really made eating easier to enjoy outside by the pool.
In addition to serving starters, salads, deserts, and handheld foods, the bar serves cocktails, wine and craft beer alike. I ordered the Peace, Love & Berries that featured Deep Eddy Vodka, Blue Curacao, fresh lime, simple syrup, fresh blue berries and strawberries. I also ordered a Pina Colada! Both were yummy and well made.
Final Thoughts
My daycation at The St. Anthony Hotel was perfect! The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. A charming young man named Gram assisted me at check-in and he was such a delight! The Director of Restaurants & Bars made her rounds about the deck, ensuring everyone was well taken care of! This lovely lady's name was Silvia and she told me that they have a live Jazz band that plays on Tuesdays. I will have to attend that in the near future! If you know anything about The St. Anthony Hotel, then you know it is known for it's eloquent, luxurious décor! The hotel is stunning, and it only gets more breathtaking as you walk in. The lobby is exquisite and perfect for photos.
